Written by Ronald Cohen, a philanthropist, pioneer in Venture Capitalism and one of the main driver of the global Impact Revolution, this book explores the concept of impact, through the lens of investors, entrepreneurs, regulators etc.

As capitalism has shifted from improving the lives of many to increasing inequalities and destroying the environment, the concept of impact may prove a solution.

Chapter by Chapter Summary

Introduction

Today, the gap between rich and poor has widened massively. Such inequality causes migration from poorer to richer countries, and the challenges emerging from absorbing those waves are exacerbating already existing inequalities in the host countries. However, a solution may be at our grasp, named the “Impact Revolution” . Fueled by impact investment, it allows to address the dangerous inequality and degradation of our planet, and lead us to a new and better world.

Governments do not have the means to cope with our human-made social and environmental problems, nor are they well placed to develop innovative approaches to tackling them, a process that inevitably involves risky investment, experimentation and occasional failure.
